Tank 700 Long-Wheelbase Previewed Ahead of Chinese Launch with Six Seats and Twin PHEV Options

Tank's flagship off-roader is set to gain a long-wheelbase variant, with images and partial specifications of the car surfacing through a filing submitted to Chinese authorities. The material, picked up by Autohome, points to an imminent debut of the extended Tank 700 in its home market.

According to the filing, the LWB model measures 5,445 mm long, 2,126 mm wide and 2,021 mm tall, riding on a 3,150 mm wheelbase. That works out to gains of 340 mm in length, 65 mm in width, 36 mm in height and 150 mm in wheelbase versus the standard-wheelbase version, while the cabin is laid out with six seats.

Visually the design carries over, though the two powertrain versions can be told apart by trim: the 2.0-liter car is shown in an all-black finish with silver accents, while the 3.0-liter variant adds gold detailing to the front bumper vents, door trim, wheels and model badges. At the rear there is a roof spoiler plus a tailgate-mounted spare wheel under a full cover that houses the reversing camera, with the rear bumper integrating the license plate mount and a diffuser.

Buyers will choose between two plug-in hybrid setups. The Hi4-Z combines a 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with an electric motor for a stated 252 hp total output, backed by a 59.05 kWh ternary lithium battery good for up to 190 km of electric-only driving on the WLTC cycle. The GF option steps up to a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six with an electric motor, quoted at 360 hp combined.
