Chery has unveiled an updated Tiggo 7 at its International User Summit, presenting the SUV as a more comfortable, technology-focused family vehicle. The reveal came alongside the global debut of the Tiggo 7X. Rather than overhaul the Tiggo 7’s overall look, Chery has kept much of its established exterior design and concentrated significant changes on the cabin, equipment and powertrain choices.

Outside, the front keeps a large gloss-black grille and LED lights similar in shape to those on the outgoing model, while the bumper and trim around the simulated air intakes are new. Other revisions include a reshaped waistline, flag-style mirrors, redesigned side skirts and alloy wheels. At the rear, the lighting signature has been changed and now sits above the Chery badge.

The cabin gets a cleaner layout, with a central touchscreen, physical controls below it and a digital instrument display. Equipment includes synthetic-leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats with massage, and a deployable footrest. The luggage area holds up to 505 litres with the rear seats in place. Chery says the updated SUV will be offered with gasoline engines as well as plug-in hybrid versions under its Super Hybrid designation. Those hybrids add scheduled charging, allowing owners to set when recharging starts to make use of off-peak electricity prices.
