Omoda Jaecoo has announced Brazilian pricing for the updated, all-electric Omoda E5, with dealership arrivals scheduled for November 5. Introductory-batch prices are R$149,990 for the Elite and R$179,990 for the Prestige. After that initial allocation, the prices rise to R$159,990 and R$184,990, respectively.
Both versions use a permanent-magnet synchronous motor rated at up to 155 kW (210 hp), driving the SUV from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.2 seconds. The Elite has a 50.6-kWh battery and supports DC charging at up to 110 kW; the Prestige gets a 60.9-kWh pack and charging capability of up to 130 kW. Omoda says a 30-to-80% charge can take as little as 16 minutes, depending on configuration. It has not yet provided Brazilian Inmetro range or energy-consumption figures.
The update brings revised exterior styling and a redesigned cabin, including a 15.6-inch touchscreen and an 8.88-inch digital instrument panel. The E5 measures about 4.54 meters long, has a 2.63-meter wheelbase and offers 372 liters of luggage capacity. Equipment includes seven airbags and a 15-function ADAS 2.5 suite; the warranty covers the vehicle for seven years and the battery for eight.
In a brief Brazilian road drive, the publication found the power more appropriate to the SUV’s size and praised its quiet cabin and limited body roll. It also noted that the quick steering response could leave the driver feeling less connected to the vehicle.
