TQ Wuling has officially launched the Porta EV panel van in Malaysia, following several months of bookings. The model is sold in 300 km and 400 km versions, named for their respective CLTC range figures. The 300 km variant is listed at an estimated RM99,800, while the 400 km version is priced at RM105,800; both figures are on-the-road prices for company commercial registration in Peninsular Malaysia, before insurance. The 400 km price is confirmed, while the lower variant’s price remains an estimate.
Both versions use a rear-mounted motor rated at 102 PS and 180 Nm, with a 115 km/h top speed. The 300 km model has a 41.9 kWh LFP battery and the 400 km version a 56.2 kWh pack. Their estimated WLTP ranges are about 240 km and 320 km respectively. DC charging from 30% to 80% takes 30 minutes for the smaller battery and 20 minutes for the larger one. The van’s 6.5 cubic-metre cargo area measures 2,830 mm long, 1,680 mm wide and 1,365 mm high.
Payload is 1,165 kg in the 300 km variant and 1,105 kg in the 400 km version. Standard equipment includes stability control, two airbags, a reversing camera and an eight-inch touchscreen. TQ Wuling says the battery’s modular design can cut battery repair and maintenance costs by up to 90% over the vehicle’s life. Vehicle coverage is five years/120,000 km, while battery cells are covered for six years/300,000 km. The Porta EV joins the smaller Wuling Bingo in the Malaysian lineup and competes in a market that also includes several other electric vans.
