Xiaomi clears 30,000 deliveries for fifth straight month, with annual goal hinging on Sky Nomad

Xiaomi's car-making arm has confirmed that its August volume cleared the 30,000 mark, extending a streak that now spans five months. As has become its habit, the company offered only a floor rather than a precise count and no split by model; the China Passenger Car Association is expected to publish the exact number later this month. For reference, CPCA data put July at 31,267 units, while August 2025 came in at 36,396 — so the year-on-year direction for last month cannot yet be pinned down.

The arithmetic behind the annual goal is getting steep. CnEVPost's tally shows 216,322 cars handed over from January through July, a 14.83% year-on-year gain. Adding the 30,000 floor for August brings the eight-month total to roughly 246,322, or 44.8% of the 550,000-unit target. Hitting it would require averaging about 75,900 deliveries a month from September to December — around 2.4 times what Xiaomi actually achieved in July.

That is where Sky Nomad comes in. Unveiled on July 30 as Xiaomi's first foray into extended-range electric vehicles, the line debuts with the seven-seat N90 Max flagship SUV and the five-seat N70 Max in September, with Pro and entry-level trims to follow. The timing is challenging: China's EREV retail sales slipped 15.35% year-on-year to 535,000 units over the first seven months, so how quickly the new series ramps will largely decide whether Xiaomi can close the gap to its target in the final stretch.
