Xiaomi Auto design head Tianyuan Li discussed the design approach behind the Skynomad N70 and N90 crossovers. He said the team wanted technology to assist drivers without making the vehicles’ styling depend on conspicuous digital effects, favoring a calm, enduring appearance instead.
Li described the N90’s 0.255 drag coefficient as the product of close work between design, engineering and aerodynamics teams. They refined surfaces and details from the hood and roof to the rear body, wheels and lighting, with efficiency intended to benefit electric, range-extended and hybrid vehicles.
He also explained that swiveling front seats can let occupants face one another, changing how they interact inside the vehicle. The source text cuts off during his further explanation of the feature.
