Xiaomi's Sky Nomad EREV lineup notches 10,000 deposit-locked orders in four minutes

Xiaomi Auto announced on Weibo moments after the September 7 launch event that its Sky Nomad line — the company's first extended-range models — drew more than 10,000 deposit-locked orders within four minutes. The company did not reveal how that demand split across the four variants.

The range opens at 209,900 yuan ($30,960) and pairs the five-seat N70 Pro and N70 Max with the seven-seat N90 Max plus a five-seat N90 Max Explorer Edition pitched at camping fans, priced at 209,900, 239,900, 269,900 and 299,900 yuan respectively. Both Max trims undercut their July 30 pre-sale prices by 20,000 and 30,000 yuan, and every version carries a 1.5-liter turbocharged range extender — the N70 Max is rated at 505 kilometers of CLTC electric range, while the N90 Max offers 1,705 kilometers of combined range.

Extended-range models broaden Xiaomi's showroom beyond the battery-electric SU7 and YU7, and the automaker pre-built an initial batch so deposit-paying customers face waits of just one to five weeks. Sustaining the surge matters for Xiaomi's goals: deliveries reached 216,322 units through July, up 14.83% year on year, and with August's tally above 30,000, the company sits at roughly 44.8% of its 550,000-unit annual target — implying monthly volumes of about 75,900 over the final four months. Lei Jun noted the same day that cumulative deliveries have passed 800,000, roughly 29 months after the first SU7 reached customers.
