Xiaomi Skynomad N70 EREV SUV launches in China from around $31,300

Xiaomi has put its Skynomad N70 range-extender on sale in China in two grades: the Pro at 209,900 yuan (about $31,275) and the Max at 239,900 yuan (about $35,745). That undercuts the Shanghai-built Tesla Model Y, which starts at 263,500 yuan, as well as EREV rivals such as the Li Auto L6, Aito M6, and IM LS6.

The five-seater stretches 4,960 mm on a 2,950 mm wheelbase — 23 mm longer than a Mercedes-Benz GLE. Front seats swivel 180 degrees and offer 16-point massage plus a zero-gravity mode, while second-row occupants get a 21.4-inch ceiling screen, a 9-liter fridge, and a quoted 1,410 mm of knee room. Luggage capacity spans 1,203 to 2,425 liters depending on seat configuration.

Both versions pair a 112 kW 1.5-liter range extender with different battery setups. The rear-drive Pro carries a 52 kWh Sunwoda LFP pack for 351 km of electric range and 1,351 km total on the CLTC cycle, while the all-wheel-drive Max steps up to 310 kW, a 76 kWh CALB NMC pack, air suspension, and a 5.5-second 0-100 km/h sprint, with figures of 505 km and 1,461 km. The outlet notes the Max's electric figure equates to 414 km WLTP, which it bills as the longest of any plug-in hybrid.

Driver assistance comes from a LiDAR sensor and Nvidia's Thor-U chip rated at 700 TOPS, running Xiaomi's HAD system for highway and urban navigation. The body blends 91.3% high-strength steel and aluminum and packs nine airbags. With aggressive pricing and Xiaomi's brand pull, the article suggests the N70 could grow into the company's bestseller.
