Fresh spy photos from Chinese outlet Autohome offer a closer look at the front of Yangwang’s upcoming flagship sedan, known internally as HU. Yangwang sales chief Hu Xiaoqing said on October 21 that the car is planned to appear in the UAE, but the company has not given a date or location. The prototype was also photographed during testing in China.
The sedan has a tall rectangular grille and vertically arranged split headlights, a more upright design than the Yangwang U7’s nose. A LiDAR sensor can be seen above the windshield, although that alone does not confirm the car’s driver-assistance features. The long body appears to have a short front overhang, a stretched rear section and rear-hinged coach doors. Earlier media estimates put its length at about 5,500 mm.
Reports in China suggest a price above 2 million yuan (about US$299,600), but Yangwang has not announced pricing. That estimate would put HU well above the JAC-Huawei Maextro S800, which measures 5,480 mm and is priced from 728,000 to 1,018,000 yuan; 486 S800s were sold in September 2026. HU’s powertrain, output, suspension, weight and final retail name are all undisclosed.
Speculation has also linked the sedan to solid-state batteries, but no battery type has been confirmed for HU. BYD has said it expects a vehicle using its solid-state technology on the road in 2027, while its battery division has outlined small-scale trials around that time and larger commercial production around 2030. Yangwang has not tied those plans to this sedan.
