The 212 T01 is now on sale in Colombia through Los Coches, offered exclusively in Adventure trim for COP 189,990,000. Built by Beijing Automobile Works (BAW) since 2024 under the 212 name, it draws on the heritage of the BAW BJ212, a Chinese off-roader produced from 1964 to 1986. The Colombian model is backed by a five-year or 150,000-km warranty, whichever comes first.

Power comes from a turbocharged 2.0-liter gasoline engine producing 214 hp and 380 Nm, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. There is no hybrid assistance, and the diesel option available in some other markets is not offered in Colombia. Its BorgWarner 4x4 system includes low range and locking front and rear differentials. The T01 also has ten drive modes, 85 cm of stated wading ability and approach and departure angles of 40 and 36 degrees.

The body-on-frame SUV measures 4.70 meters long and has 23.5 cm of ground clearance. It weighs 2,150 kg, can tow up to 2,500 kg and has a 750-liter cargo area. Inside are a 10.25-inch digital instrument panel, a 12.3-inch touchscreen and heated and ventilated front seats. However, the infotainment system is in English, uses Carbit Link, and does not offer Android Auto or Apple CarPlay.

Safety equipment includes four airbags, stability and traction control, hill-descent and hill-start aids, a 360-degree camera and parking sensors. The article notes that the vehicle lacks advanced driver-assistance systems; it also flags the plastic underbody protection as a concern for demanding off-road use.
