BYD’s ultra-luxury Yangwang brand plans to unveil a new flagship sedan in the United Arab Emirates, a key market for cars in this segment. Known by the internal code HU, the model is in its final testing phase. Yangwang chief executive Hu Xiaoqing posted camouflaged pre-production images in September and has now confirmed the UAE presentation, though its date and venue remain undisclosed.

The HU is expected to be at least 5.5 metres long, making it larger than the Yangwang U7, which measures 5,265 mm from end to end and has a 3,160 mm wheelbase. The new car’s more formal proportions and door-handle design have been likened to those of the Rolls-Royce Phantom. No technical details have been released. A photograph showing the sedan connected to a charger suggests an electric or plug-in hybrid setup; the report says both versions may be offered, as with the U7.

Pricing has not been announced. Chinese media estimates put the HU at around 2 million yuan, compared with 1.458 million yuan for the extended Yangwang U8L in its top Dingcang Edition. Yangwang launched in 2022 as BYD’s highest-end marque. Its lineup has included the U8 SUV, introduced in 2023, the U9 supercar, which arrived in 2024, and the U7 sedan, sales of which began in 2025. The brand sold 3,237 vehicles in China during the first nine months of 2026, up 38.5% year on year.
