Chery has introduced the new-generation Tiggo 7 and the more rugged-looking Tiggo X7 in China. Both are midsize SUVs with a 270-cm wheelbase and a 156-hp gasoline engine producing 220 Nm of torque. The report says the pair could reach Italy in 2028, though it gives no confirmed launch date or market specifications.
The Tiggo 7 measures 460 cm long, 187 cm wide and 171 cm tall. Its cabin can be equipped with front-seat massage, ventilation, heating and powered leg supports, while the rear seat offers two backrest angles. The 505-liter cargo area has a two-level floor, and folding the 40:20:40 rear seat creates a load space about two meters long. Depending on market and trim, driver aids include automatic and remote parking, plus assisted driving on highways and in cities. Its powertrain range includes gasoline and hybrid options.
At 464 cm long, 197 cm wide and 179 cm tall, the Tiggo X7 is slightly larger and has a more upright, angular appearance. Chery cites ground clearance above 20 cm and a wading depth of up to 70 cm. Alongside Eco, Normal and Sport, its drive settings cover snow, mud, sand, mountain, rock and water-crossing conditions, with a system to control speed off-road.
The X7 also gets one-touch rear-seat folding and an adjustable-height cargo floor, with separate storage areas for clean and dirty gear. Its choices are full-hybrid or plug-in-hybrid powertrains, with front- or all-wheel drive; all are based on the Tiggo 7’s gasoline engine.
