Chery outlined plans for a broad expansion in Brazil during an October summit at its headquarters in Wuhu, China. The group expects all the new models discussed for the Brazilian market to arrive in 2027, spanning three brands: Omoda, iCaur and Lepas.

The compact Omoda 4 is due in the second half of the year with a flex-fuel hybrid system, a choice that can make use of Brazil’s established ethanol supply. Chery has not yet disclosed the system’s layout, combined power and torque, fuel economy or price. The iCaur V27 is scheduled to make its Brazilian debut from March, alongside the opening of the brand’s first local dealership. In the second half of the year, iCaur also plans to bring the midsize V25, shown in Wuhu with either electric or range-extender power and intelligent all-wheel drive.

Lepas, another Chery group brand, is targeting a Brazilian entry in the second half of 2027 with three SUVs: the compact L4, midsize L6 and large L8. The scale of the rollout will require investment in dealerships, parts and after-sales support, the report notes. It says the models’ competitiveness will depend not only on their designs but also on factors such as interior space, efficiency, equipment, servicing, reliability, maintenance costs and resale value. Detailed specifications and final configurations for the vehicles have yet to be announced.
