Pakistan's week was about volume and price: Master Changan set out a four-brand, 30-model plan, Chery cut the Tiggo 8 Super Hybrid by PKR 1.29 million as plug-in hybrid sales tax rose, and XPeng scheduled the L03 REEV for October 12. BYD is talking about fast-charging infrastructure but has set no date.
Brands widening their lineups
- Master Changan's roadmap runs through 2029 and covers more than 30 models across Changan, Nevo, Deepal and Avatr, including five locally assembled Changan passenger vehicles. The company reported more than 1,500 orders for the Nevo Hunter, with deliveries starting in October.
- GWM and Sazgar are on a nine-model new-energy roadshow through ten cities from October 5 to 24.
- Chery's first batch of the Q electric hatchback has been dispatched to Pakistan, with no arrival date announced.
- XPeng will launch the L03 REEV on October 12, claiming 250 km of electric range and 1,100 km combined; the local price was not announced when that report ran.
Price and infrastructure
Chery Master set the Tiggo 8 Super Hybrid AWD at PKR 10,999,000, down from PKR 12,289,000, with a free 7 kW home charger, while stock lasts. The company said sales tax on plug-in hybrids has nearly doubled, which is the context for the offer.
BYD is discussing its ultra-fast charging system with Mega Motor Company. Progress depends on infrastructure readiness and BYD's future vehicle plans, and the quoted 10-to-70% in five minutes applies only to vehicles with its new battery.
The owner's view
A PakWheels owner reported about 400 km of city range from a GAC Aion V priced near PKR 9 million, against 520 km NEDC. He also noted higher energy use and costs on the motorway.
What it means
- The offer to cut a plug-in hybrid by PKR 1.29 million, tied to a tax change, is the clearest sign of how a tax shift is passing through to Chinese-brand pricing.
- Lineup plans are long (through 2029) while charging plans are still conditional.
