BYD's premium marque Denza has opened sales in China of a fully electric take on the N8L, giving buyers a pure-EV alternative to the plug-in hybrid already in showrooms. Two trim levels are offered: the entry version lists at 299,800 yuan (about $44,100) and the top grade at 329,800 yuan (roughly $48,600), making the EV 20,000 yuan cheaper than the PHEV.
The big people mover stretches 5.2 meters long with a 3,075 mm wheelbase and seats six in a 2+2+2 arrangement featuring standalone second-row chairs and a third row that slides fore and aft. At launch it comes solely as a rear-wheel-drive single-motor model producing 370 kW (496 hp), fed by a 130.15 kWh second-generation Blade battery rated at up to 960 km on the CLTC cycle, or 778 km WLTP. Thanks to an 800-volt electrical architecture, the pack can go from 10% to 97% charge in roughly nine minutes.
A roof-mounted LiDAR anchors the driver-assist hardware, backed by five millimeter-wave radars, twelve ultrasonic sensors and twelve cameras to enable highway and urban driving assistance plus automated parking across various scenarios. The cockpit combines a digital cluster, central and passenger screens, rear entertainment displays, an AR-HUD and a digital rearview mirror, and this variant is the first to feature BYD's intelligent voice assistant, which handles multi-step commands, trip planning and smart-home control. Buyers also get a 208-liter powered frunk with a drain hole so it can be rinsed with water, plus three exclusive paint colors: Gold Black, Winter Green and Sunset Ink.
