BYD has begun official Brazilian sales of the Denza Z9 GT, ending the presale period that started at the country’s most recent auto show. The luxury electric model is priced at R$670,000, up from the initially announced R$650,000. Its final specification also brings more power than the 952-hp example previously delivered to racing driver Felipe Massa: the production version is rated at 1,155 hp.

A front motor and two rear motors provide all-wheel drive and torque vectoring, with 123.5 kgfm of torque. Denza quotes a 0–100 km/h time of 2.7 seconds and a top speed of 270 km/h, despite the car weighing close to three tonnes. Adaptive air suspension and rear-wheel steering, which can turn the rear wheels by as much as 20 degrees, are intended to help manage its size and improve maneuverability.

The Z9 GT is built on BYD’s e³ platform and measures 5.18 metres long, with a 3.12-metre wheelbase. Rear-seat equipment includes massage, ventilation and heating; the cabin also features a 13.2-inch instrument display, a 17.3-inch central screen and a 20-speaker Devialet audio system. Its 122.4-kWh Blade battery is rated for 658 km on the European NEDC cycle, while the article says the Brazilian Inmetro figure is expected to be lower. Charging from 10% to 70% is claimed to take five minutes. Denza positions the car against the Porsche Taycan: the cited Taycan 4S Cross Turismo starts at R$1.08 million, while the 1,034-hp Turbo GT Weissach costs R$1.69 million.
