Mahy Khoory Automotive, Dongfeng’s official UAE distributor, has introduced the Dongfeng 008 range-extended electric SUV in the Emirates. The three-row model has six seats and is priced at AED 139,900, equivalent to about US$38,100 or SAR 142,900.
Its rear electric motor produces 272 hp and 340 Nm, while a 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine generates electricity rather than driving the wheels. Dongfeng quotes an electric-only range of up to 200 km and a total range of up to 1,220 km when the range extender is used. The 34.32-kWh battery can be fast-charged from 30% to 80% in 15 minutes with a compatible charger; the petrol tank holds 51 liters.
The 008 measures 5.002 meters long, with a 3.025-meter wheelbase. Its second row has two individual seats. Cabin equipment includes a refrigerator that can cool or heat between -5 and 50 degrees Celsius, a 15.6-inch central display and a 19-speaker audio system. The windshield and four door windows are designed to help limit outside noise.
The launch follows the opening of Dongfeng’s main showroom at Waha Mall on Sheikh Zayed Road in Dubai. The distributor says the brand now has four UAE showrooms, split between Dubai and Abu Dhabi, and highlighted warranty, maintenance and after-sales support alongside the new family-oriented model.
