Chinese automaker Forthing has begun its expansion into Chile with a five-model range comprising 11 configurations. The brand, part of Dongfeng Liuzhou Motor, is being introduced by Indumotora and will cover sedan, SUV and MPV segments. Its Chilean lineup includes ICE, HEV, PHEV and REEV powertrains. The company plans to serve customers through nine dealerships and 15 outlets, with the outlet network expected to grow to 18 in its first phase. Vehicle warranties are five years or 150,000 km; battery coverage is eight years or 200,000 km.

The range includes the S7 REEV sedan, priced at CLP 25.99 million after discounts. Its 154-kW electric motor and 28.3-kWh LFP battery provide a stated 186 km of electric driving, or up to 1,038 km when combined with its 1.5-liter combustion engine. The T5 and seven-seat T5 Plus SUVs use a 188-hp 1.5-liter turbo engine and are listed at CLP 17.99 million to CLP 18.99 million after discounts. The updated TK5 is another extended-range SUV: its 31.94-kWh battery supports 173 km of electric range, with total range stated at 942 km.

Forthing’s two MPVs round out the launch. The seven-seat U-Tour is offered with either a 1.5-liter turbo gasoline engine or a hybrid system, with discounted prices from CLP 21.49 million to CLP 26.49 million. The larger V9 HEV, with a combined output of 252 hp, is priced at CLP 35.99 million after discounts. Forthing traces its roots to a machinery factory established in Liuzhou in 1954; the brand itself debuted in 2001 and began focusing on new-energy vehicles in 2022.
