Geely Galaxy TT electric sedan to launch September 10 after 20,000-plus pre-orders

Geely's Galaxy marque will hold the official launch of its TT electric sedan on September 10 in Hangzhou, according to several Chinese automotive outlets, though the brand's own channels have yet to confirm the date. Pre-sales opened on August 13 with three rear-wheel-drive trims spanning 145,900 to 169,900 yuan, and orders had cleared 20,000 units by August 28. The dual-motor TT Ultra, capped at an initial run of 999 examples, went on pre-sale earlier on July 21 at 209,800 yuan.

Billed as a sporty mid-to-large EV, the fastback claims a drag coefficient of just 0.22, aided by a three-position active rear spoiler that generates up to 508 newtons of downforce at its steepest 22.5-degree setting. Rear-drive versions pair a 245 kW single motor with 540 km or 640 km of CLTC range, while the Ultra's all-wheel-drive system makes 425 kW for a 3.8-second sprint to 100 km/h. Every trim rides on an 800-volt platform with a CATL co-developed Shenxing TT battery that can recover more than 400 km of range in 11 minutes of charging.

The equipment list includes one LiDAR and Horizon Robotics' J6M chip with a choice of H7 or H5 driver-assist suites, plus a second-generation Flyme Auto cockpit featuring a 25.6-inch AR head-up display, 23 speakers and a panoramic glass roof. The TT is aimed squarely at the Xiaomi SU7 and Xpeng P7+ in China's near-200,000-yuan electric sedan segment.

The sedan's arrival matters for Geely's home market: August exports hit a record 110,094 units while domestic volumes slid roughly 25% year-on-year, leaving Galaxy — which delivered 119,115 cars in August — as a key pillar of local sales.
