GWM has introduced the Haval H7 in Brazil, pricing the plug-in hybrid SUV at R$261,000. It is positioned as the brand’s more affordable boxy-style SUV in the country, with four-wheel drive and a 370-hp powertrain. The H7 measures 4.80 meters long, 1.95 meters wide and 1.84 meters tall, with a 2.73-meter wheelbase and a 586-liter trunk.
Brazilian-market versions pair a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with two electric motors and a four-speed DHT3 transmission. The combined system delivers 77.7 kgfm of torque to all four wheels, while a mechanical rear differential lock is included. A 27.5-kWh LFP battery provides an advertised electric-only range of up to 92 km. The SUV can also supply up to 6 kW of power to external equipment. INMETRO figures cited in the report list fuel economy of 32.0 km/l in city driving and 24.3 km/l on the highway when using gasoline.
Inside, equipment includes a 15.6-inch central display running Coffee OS 3.3, a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel, a head-up display and 50-W wireless phone charging. Safety and driver-assistance features include six airbags, a 540-degree camera system, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assistance and autonomous emergency braking. The H7 shares some styling cues with the larger Haval H9 but is 15 cm shorter and uses a unibody structure. The article also notes that other markets offer different hybrid and plug-in hybrid configurations.
