GWM began taking reservations in Brazil for the Haval H7 on October 5. The initial reservation period is limited to existing GWM customers, who get priority for the first batch; reservations open to the general public on October 7. The H7 joins the automaker’s Haval SUV lineup in Brazil.

GWM says the SUV will use a powertrain similar to the H6’s, combining a flex-fuel 1.5-liter turbo engine, plug-in hybrid technology and its Hi4 system. The setup drives both axles electrically and provides intelligent all-wheel drive. The H7 has a unibody platform, with MacPherson front suspension and a multilink rear arrangement.

The model measures 4.80 meters long, 1.95 meters wide and 1.84 meters tall, with a 2.74-meter wheelbase. It has five seats and a 586-liter trunk with a side-opening tailgate. Its boxy styling includes rectangular LED headlights, pronounced fenders, plastic cladding and an externally mounted spare wheel. GWM positions it between the 4.68-meter H6 and the 4.95-meter H9.

Power output, versions, equipment and prices have not been confirmed. The domestic H6 PHEV19 provides a reference point at 326 hp and 54 kgfm, while H7 versions in other markets are offered with front- or all-wheel drive and up to 435 hp. A shipment of hundreds of H7s reached the port complex of Vitória and Vila Velha on September 19, ahead of a launch expected by October.
