GWM has begun taking preorders in Brazil for the Tank 400, a large SUV positioned above the Tank 300 and at the top of the company’s local Tank lineup. The vehicle is nearly five meters long and seats five; its preorder price is R$399,000. GWM says it will be its final Brazilian launch of 2026.
The Tank 400 has angular bodywork, pronounced fenders and a spare wheel mounted at the rear. GWM presents it as an off-road-capable SUV rather than a vehicle focused solely on everyday driving. Brazilian audiences had already seen the model at Festival Interlagos before preorders opened.
The automaker has not yet released the definitive technical details for the Brazilian version. In China, the Tank 400 is available as the Hi4-T plug-in hybrid, pairing a 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with an electric motor for a combined 408 hp. Those figures describe the Chinese configuration and are not confirmed for Brazil. GWM plans to present the SUV and announce local specifications on November 9 and 10.
The model enters a Brazilian luxury off-road market that includes Denza, Toyota’s SW4 Diamond and Jetour’s recently introduced G700. The article also notes that Land Rover, BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Audi have previously had a strong presence in this segment.
