Omoda is planning the Omoda 2 as an entry-level SUV for Brazil, where it would target rivals such as the Volkswagen Tera and Jeep Avenger. The model is not yet developed, however, and the report says it could arrive around 2028. A related Jaecoo 3 is also planned, with each vehicle expected to follow its brand’s own design direction.

The plans follow a repositioning of the Omoda 4, formerly known as the Omoda 3 when it was presented in April 2025. Rather than compete in the entry segment as originally expected, the Omoda 4 is now intended to sit below the Omoda 5 and take on established compact SUVs such as the Volkswagen T-Cross, Honda HR-V and Hyundai Creta. It is expected to reach Brazil in the first half of next year as a flex-fuel hybrid.

The Omoda 4 is expected to use the Omoda 5’s hybrid system: a 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine rated at 135 hp and 20.4 kgfm, paired with a 204 hp electric motor. Combined output is 224 hp and 30.1 kgfm of torque. The article estimates a price of R$140,000–150,000, while noting that the Omoda 5’s forthcoming facelift could affect its price and leave room for the newer model.

For the Omoda 2 to compete in a segment where rivals sell around 7,000 units per month, the report says Brazilian manufacturing will be essential. Omoda and Jaecoo are pursuing the purchase of Land Rover’s plant in Itatiaia, Rio de Janeiro, and negotiations may gain momentum after the election period.
