GWM Australia plans to introduce the Haval Jolion Max in the first quarter of 2027, offering both plug-in hybrid and fully electric versions. Product planning manager Timothy Leong said Australian models will be front-wheel drive only, with Lux and Ultra trims considered likely. The new SUV is intended to sit between the Jolion Hybrid and H6 PHEV in the range.

The EV is specified with a 58kWh battery and an estimated driving range of about 400km; its output is 150kW. The PHEV has a 19kWh battery, an estimated electric-only range of roughly 100km and reported net engine power of 240kW. Certification documents list towing limits of 1,000kg for the EV and 1,500kg for the PHEV. The vehicle measures 4,590mm long, 1,877mm wide and 1,675mm tall, with a 2,710mm wheelbase.

GWM has not announced prices. Leong indicated the model would be positioned below the H6, while the article suggests the PHEV could fall between the Jolion Hybrid, priced from A$32,990 drive-away, and H6 PHEV, from A$44,990. The EV could approach the Ora 5’s A$33,990–A$36,990 drive-away range. With the Jolion Max and Ora 5 Plus, GWM expects to have four medium-SUV lines in Australia and is targeting 2,500 monthly sales from the segment as it pursues a top-five position in local new-vehicle sales.
