Leapmotor has introduced its C10 and C16 SUVs in Mexico, pitching their Ultra-Hybrid powertrains as a way to drive electrically while retaining a gasoline-powered generator for longer trips. The models were presented at Parque Aztlán in Mexico City. Stellantis is supporting the brand’s local sales and aftersales operations, with Mopar providing parts and service through its national network.
The 4,739-mm C10 has a 28.4-kWh LFP battery, a 217-hp electric motor producing 360 Nm and a 1.5-liter gasoline engine that serves only as a generator. Leapmotor quotes up to 146 km of electric range and 1,008 km combined under the NEDC cycle. It reaches 100 km/h from rest in 7.8 seconds. Equipment includes a 14.6-inch central display, 21 driver-assistance systems and a 360-degree camera; it received a five-star Euro NCAP rating in 2024.
The longer, 4,915-mm C16 seats six in a 2+2+2 layout. Its 38.7-kWh LFP battery and same-output electric motor deliver claimed ranges of 184 km on electricity and 953 km combined, also under NEDC. Both vehicles receive eight-year/160,000-km high-voltage battery coverage and a four-year/100,000-km general warranty. In Mexico, the C10 lists at MXN 694,900, with a launch price of MXN 649,900; the C16 lists at MXN 749,900, reduced to MXN 714,900 for launch.
