IM Motors, the SAIC-backed brand, launched the all-electric LS8 Neo in China on November 5, 2026. The mid-to-large SUV joins the model’s existing range-extender lineup and is offered in two trims: the 93 Max+ at 239,800 yuan (about US$35,800) and the 103 Max+ at 259,800 yuan (about US$38,800). It uses an 800V electrical platform and retains the design of the range-extender version, including a full-width light strip and matrix LED headlights.
The LS8 Neo measures 5,085 mm long, 2,000 mm wide and 1,807 mm tall, with a 3,060 mm wheelbase. Its single motor produces 300 kW and 500 Nm. Buyers can choose a 93 kWh LFP battery with a claimed 684 km of CLTC range, or a 103 kWh ternary-lithium pack rated for 752 km. IM says charging from 10% to 80% takes 17 to 20 minutes; the article also gives approximate WLTP equivalents of 554 km and 609 km, respectively.
Standard chassis equipment includes dual-redundant steer-by-wire, rear-wheel steering, air suspension and torque control. IM quotes a 4.85-metre turning radius and says the system can facilitate 180-degree turns in tight spaces. The cabin is offered in five- or six-seat layouts, with multiple screens, Snapdragon 8295P computing and a roof-mounted LiDAR-based driver-assistance system. Other listed features include massage, heating and ventilation for the seats, a refrigerator, and an optional 25-speaker B&O audio setup.
