GWM Australia has put a price tag on the plug-in hybrid Cannon Hi4-T, and it undercuts every PHEV ute currently sold locally. Two grades are on offer: the Lux at $50,990 drive-away and the Ultra at $54,990, with ABN holders paying $1000 less for each. A launch offer running until October 31, 2026 lets buyers choose either a $2000 fuel card or a $2000 price cut, bringing the entry point down to $47,990.
Even without the bonus, the Cannon Hi4-T sits below its nearest rival, the JAC Hunter PHEV, which lists at $49,988 before on-road costs. With this arrival GWM becomes the only brand in Australia fielding two PHEV utes, following the Cannon Alpha Hi4-T from May 2025, while Tank 300 and Tank 500 PHEVs round out its electrified off-road lineup.
Mechanically it mirrors other Hi4-T products: a 2.0-litre turbo petrol four paired with a single electric motor and a 33.1kWh LFP battery, producing 310kW and 750Nm through a nine-speed hybrid automatic and a mechanical four-wheel-drive system with low range. Claimed figures include 2.4L/100km fuel use, 115km of NEDC electric range, DC charging at up to 110kW (30-80 per cent in 18 minutes) and the class-benchmark 3500kg braked towing capacity.
Standard kit includes a 15.6-inch infotainment touchscreen, a 10.25-inch digital cluster, wireless smartphone mirroring, vehicle-to-load output and 230V outlets in the tub, while the Ultra adds a sunroof, heated steering wheel and heated, ventilated power front seats. Deliveries are slated for mid-October 2026, with pre-orders already open.
