Jaecoo Indonesia is investigating an incident involving one J5 in Jakarta on November 4, 2026, after footage of the vehicle circulated on social media. The video, posted to Threads, appears to show the front-right wheel detached, along with another piece of the vehicle that may be part of the bumper. A nearby metal fence also appears damaged. The cause has not been established.
Jaecoo said it was coordinating with relevant teams to obtain more information about what happened. Its aftersales team has contacted the owner to arrange follow-up and a comprehensive inspection. The company said it would provide further information once more details were available.
The report also recalls a separate axle failure involving a BYD Atto 1. Its driver said the car had struck a road divider before the rear-right wheel area failed; the driver described continuing for roughly one or two kilometers before hearing noises and the wheel coming off. The report does not establish a connection between the two incidents.
