Jaecoo J5 received the “New Model with Outstanding Equipment of the Year” honor at the Car Choice Awards 2026. In Vietnam, the model is sold with three powertrain choices: gasoline, Super Hybrid and fully electric, across a stated price range of VND 500 million to VND 800 million. The company says the range is intended to let buyers choose an electrification level suited to their driving needs.
All three versions use a multi-link rear suspension. The J5 SHS-H hybrid and J5 EV add 18 ADAS functions, a 540-degree HD camera, six airbags, a 13.2-inch central display, an eight-speaker Sony audio system and a panoramic glass roof. The SHS-H combines a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with an electric motor, hybrid battery and dedicated DHT transmission. Jaecoo lists a 0–100 km/h time of 7.9 seconds and an approximate 1,000 km NEDC range. The EV is rated at about 208 hp, uses a 58.9 kWh battery and has a stated NEDC range of 461 km.
The EV supports DC fast charging and can be equipped with a four-in-one charging package that includes a 7 kW charging unit, a 3.5 kW portable charger, and V2L and V2V power functions. Jaecoo also lists an eight-year/200,000 km vehicle warranty for the EV, with eight years/160,000 km coverage for its battery and motor. The company says the J5 is the first model selected for production at its plant in Hung Yen, Vietnam, and that it is expanding distribution, after-sales service and parts supply there.
