LDV has brought diesel power back to its D90 seven-seat SUV range in Australia after a gap of almost two years. The updated lineup also introduces the diesel-only Luxe flagship, while a $4,500 discount applies across the range until October 31, 2026. After the offer ends, recommended prices rise by up to $1,000 for ABN buyers and $526 for private customers, depending on the version.

The diesel D90 is available as an Executive or Luxe, both with four-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic. Its 2.5-litre turbo-diesel produces 164kW and 520Nm, and is sourced from the LDV Terron 9 ute. Compared with the previous D90 diesel, it adds power and torque, uses 8.1L/100km on the combined cycle—1.0L/100km less—and raises braked towing capacity from 3,100kg to 3,500kg. Crawl control and a rear differential lock are standard on diesel models.

With the discount included, the Executive diesel starts at A$46,990 for ABN holders and A$49,700 for private buyers. The Luxe costs A$51,490 and A$54,437 respectively. Its extra equipment includes 20-inch wheels, heated, ventilated and massage-function front seats, a 360-degree camera, a powered tailgate and front and rear differential locks.

LDV is counting on the diesel option to help the D90 compete with established rivals including the Toyota Prado, Ford Everest and Isuzu MU-X. In September, the D90 recorded 211 Australian sales, compared with 830 for the MU-X; the Everest sold 1,713 and the Prado 2,006. The D90 is LDV Australia’s second-best-selling model, behind the T60 ute.
