Luxeed, the electric-vehicle brand developed by Huawei and Chery, launched the updated R7 coupe SUV in China on September 28, 2026. Prices range from 239,800 yuan to 319,800 yuan, with four versions: Max at 239,800 yuan, Max+ at 259,800 yuan, Max+ Long Range at 289,800 yuan and Ultra at 319,800 yuan. The entry model is 20,000 yuan cheaper than the previous R7’s starting price.

The SUV measures 4,982 mm long, 1,981 mm wide and either 1,634 or 1,650 mm tall, depending on configuration, with a 2,950 mm wheelbase. Its electric version uses Huawei’s 800-volt Giant Whale battery platform and a rear-mounted single motor with maximum output of 227 kW. Luxeed cites a maximum range of 855 km under the CLTC test cycle.

Driver-assistance equipment includes Huawei ADS 5 and a dual-optical-path imaging LiDAR with 896 channels. An in-cabin LiDAR is optional on some trims. The cabin features HarmonyOS Alps, two 17.2-inch 3.4K displays, a 26-inch head-up display and standard Huawei Sound audio. Luxeed says it invested 500 million yuan in the mid-cycle update, which includes eight areas of improvement.

An Indonesia launch has not been confirmed. The report says several suspected R7s were spotted on the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road in August with test plates and covered logos, prompting speculation that the model could reach the market.
