MG 07 customer deliveries begin with order book already past 31,000 units

SAIC's MG has started handing customers the keys to the MG 07, just over a week after the sedan's August 21 debut. The company says firm orders have already cleared 31,000 units, with the first 10,000 locked in a mere 1 minute and 57 seconds after launch.

Seven variants span plug-in hybrid and battery-electric power, priced from 108,900 to 159,900 yuan (roughly 16,000 to 23,500 USD). The entry point costs less than half of a Xiaomi SU7, even though the MG 07 matches a Tesla Model 3 for size.

MG has packed the car with kit aimed at younger buyers: frameless doors, a five-stage electric rear spoiler, a 168-liter frunk plus a 697-liter trunk, and on higher trims reclining "queen seats" with heating, ventilation and massage, a 21-speaker surround setup, and a 30-liter dual-zone fridge in the luggage bay. Driver assistance comes via Momenta's R7 system, covering city and highway navigation, nine parking scenarios and 25 active safety functions.

The EV versions ride on an 800V platform with a single front motor in 176 kW or 235 kW tunes and 67 or 91 kWh packs, good for 610 to 845 km of range. The plug-in hybrid pairs a 1.5L engine with a 152 kW motor, offering 245 km of electric driving, 2.91L/100km with a depleted battery and up to 1,745 km of combined CLTC range. MG remains far stronger abroad than at home — in February it became the first Chinese brand to top one million cumulative sales across the EU and UK.
