MG Motor has announced Brazilian pricing for the IM6, the first model from its premium IM Motors division to be sold in the country. The electric SUV will be offered as the Signature for R$368,990 and the Performance for R$439,990, a R$71,000 difference. Its rivals in the local market include the BYD Sealion 7 and Zeekr 7X.
The rear-wheel-drive Signature pairs a 295-hp motor with a 75-kWh battery. MG quotes 348 km of range under Brazil’s Inmetro cycle, or 450 km under WLTP, and a 0–100 km/h time of 6.4 seconds. The Performance adds a second motor and all-wheel drive, producing 752 hp and 81.8 kgfm of torque. Its 100-kWh battery provides up to 400 km on the Inmetro cycle or 505 km WLTP; acceleration to 100 km/h takes 3.5 seconds.
The trims also differ in electrical architecture: the Signature uses a 400-volt system, while the Performance has an 800-volt setup. The latter’s battery can charge from 10% to 80% in about 18 minutes on DC power, according to MG, compared with around 26 minutes for the Signature. Both versions have four-wheel steering, digital screens and driver-assistance features. The SUV measures 4,904 mm long and offers 665 litres of rear luggage space, plus a 32-litre front compartment.
