Omoda & Jaecoo Vietnam’s launch event for the OMODA C5 SHS-H has been named among the Top 5 automotive events at Car Choice Awards 2026. The production combined cars with fashion, music, lighting and technology, presenting the SUV as both an urban-style vehicle and a hybrid intended to deliver a more engaging drive. The C5 SHS-H was introduced in Vietnam in March 2026.
The model’s Super Hybrid System pairs a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with an electric motor, a DHT transmission and a 1.83-kWh battery. The article says the power sources work together according to driving conditions, with the setup intended to balance everyday efficiency and responsive performance. Omoda also claims a driving range of more than 1,000 km without plugging in or changing normal vehicle-use habits. Other equipment cited includes a multi-link rear suspension and safety and convenience technologies.
The recognition is presented as part of the company’s effort to establish distinct identities for OMODA and JAECOO in Vietnam. Omoda & Jaecoo Vietnam says it has a network of 40 distributors nationwide and is developing parts logistics aimed at delivery within 48 hours.
The company also points to a planned vehicle factory in Hung Yen as a long-term commitment to the market. The project is described as a move from importing and distributing vehicles toward local production, with potential to support localization, workforce development and deeper participation in Vietnam’s automotive industry.
