Shangjie’s Z9, a large battery-electric SUV, has appeared in China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) vehicle filing system. The submission is a step required before a new vehicle can go on sale in China and often precedes a market launch by several months. The Z9 will be the fourth model from Shangjie, the brand developed by Huawei and SAIC Motor.
The SUV measures 5,139 mm long, 2,005 mm wide and 1,776 mm tall, with a 3,086 mm wheelbase. Buyers will be able to choose five- or six-seat layouts, although the six-seat configuration is listed only for the dual-motor version. SAIC filed both a single-motor and a dual-motor variant.
The single-motor model has a rear-mounted 280 kW motor, a 200 km/h top speed and a curb weight of 2,595 kg. The dual-motor version adds a 175 kW front motor, for a combined output of 455 kW; its listed top speed is 210 km/h and its curb weight ranges from 2,715 to 2,794 kg. Both versions use ternary lithium-ion batteries supplied by CATL. The filing does not give battery capacity or driving range. Images show roof-mounted LiDAR, which points to the possible inclusion of Huawei driver-assistance technology.
Shangjie’s existing lineup comprises the H5 SUV, Z7 coupe and Z7T shooting brake. The Z7 went on sale in April, while the H5 first arrived in September 2025 and received an update in June 2026.
