Stellantis is working with China’s Dongfeng on four new vehicles due in 2027: two for Jeep and two for Peugeot. The program is set to include plug-in hybrid and fully electric versions, with development and production planned at Dongfeng’s Wuhan facility. The companies have not revealed the final designs or detailed specifications.

The partnership has roots in a 1991 agreement to build Peugeot and Citroën vehicles in China. Stellantis says the current cooperation includes shared platforms and product development. Peugeot’s Concept 6 and Concept 8 offer early styling cues, though neither has been identified as the final form of a model in the program. Shown at the 2026 Beijing auto show, the Concept 8 is a large SUV that may draw on a Dongfeng platform. Advanced driver-assistance technology from Chinese AI company Momenta is also expected to feature in the vehicles.

European sales are planned to begin in 2028; no timetable has been given for other regions. In Brazil, Stellantis regional chief Herlander Zola has linked Peugeot and Citroën’s future to the Dongfeng partnership, including products developed for the region. That leaves open the possibility of a Brazilian arrival from 2027, but Stellantis has not confirmed that any of the four vehicles will be sold there. Peugeot could also move into a different segment in Brazil, although no specific model or positioning has been announced.
