Xpeng's newest crossover has moved from pre-orders to full sales in China, with complete pricing now published after the model's August debut. The G9L is effectively a shortened five-seat take on the flagship GX, which is offered only as a six-seater, though it wears its own body styling with softer lines rather than copying its bigger sibling.
The company has already framed the SUV as a global product destined for 64 countries and regions. In Europe it will be built locally: assembly is assigned to Magna Steyr's Austrian factory, which already produces the G6, G9 and P7+ for Xpeng. The world-market version debuts on October 12 at the Paris Motor Show.
Mechanically, the G9L rides on an 800-volt platform with adaptive suspension and four-wheel steering, stretching 5120 mm with a 3100 mm wheelbase. Inside there is a 17.3-inch infotainment screen, an augmented-reality head-up display, a 33-speaker audio system and Xpeng's in-house Turing AI processors — the same chips that run its Iron humanoid robot.
The range-extender pairs a 1.5-litre turbo engine working as a generator with two electric motors for a combined 503 hp and 435 km of electric-only driving. The EV line-up opens with a 367-hp rear-drive version rated at 702 km and peaks with an all-wheel-drive flagship carrying a 110 kWh battery good for 755 km. Chinese pricing spans 241,800–319,800 yuan for the electric models and 259,800–309,800 yuan for the hybrid.
