BAIC dealerships in Brazil have begun promoting pre-sales of the Arcfox T1, less than two months after the Chinese automaker announced its arrival in the country with the T1 and T5. An email sent to prospective customers describes reservations as open, but neither the email nor the linked dealer page allows customers to complete a reservation. Instead, visitors can submit their details for a dealership to contact them later.
The dealer website also lists preliminary specifications that BAIC has not fully confirmed. It describes a front-mounted electric motor producing 95 hp and 18 kgfm of torque, driving the front wheels. A 42-kWh lithium iron phosphate battery is listed, with a claimed range of up to 425 km on the CLTC cycle. Brazil’s Inmetro certification process is still under way. The car supports AC and DC charging and includes vehicle-to-load (V2L) power output.
The T1 measures 4.34 m long, 1.86 m wide and 1.57 m tall, with a 2.77 m wheelbase. Luggage capacity is listed at 459 liters, expanding to 1,352 liters with the rear seats folded. Other listed equipment includes a 15.6-inch multimedia screen, an 8.8-inch instrument display, Level 2 driver assistance, a 540-degree camera view and automatic parking. The hatch is also listed with 18-inch alloy wheels and a maximum speed of 140 km/h. BAIC has positioned it against the BYD Dolphin in Brazil.
