Brazil’s new-car registration ranking for October 2026, released by consultancy K.Lume on November 3, put the Fiat Strada first with 14,566 units. Hyundai’s HB20 rose from 11th to second, recording 9,037 registrations, while BYD’s Dolphin Mini held third with 8,432. The Fiat Argo followed with 8,331, and the Volkswagen Polo placed fifth with 8,125.
BYD’s newly arrived Atto 2 plug-in hybrid SUV entered the top 50 in 38th place, with 2,274 registrations. That was more than the BYD King’s 2,205 and the Jeep Avenger’s 1,932. The Atto 2 is derived from the all-electric Yuan Pro. BYD had temporarily halted King assembly at its Camaçari plant in Bahia to focus production there on the new SUV; the article also noted that the Atto 2’s presale had accumulated about 7,000 reservations by the time the production change was explained.
Another newcomer, GWM’s Ora 5, ranked 47th with 1,598 units, ahead of the Geely EX2’s 1,483, which left it outside the top 50. GWM had expected monthly sales of 700 to 800 Ora 5s, but sold its initial 2,000-car batch in 24 hours. Buyers were reportedly facing waits of about 90 days, with supply expected to normalize after the Chinese automaker opens a second factory in Espírito Santo and local production begins.
