Chery Group plans to bring its premium Lepas brand to Brazil in the second half of 2027 with three SUVs: the L4, L6 and L8. All three are slated to arrive as imported flex-fuel plug-in hybrids, able to run on ethanol or gasoline. Lepas will be positioned above Omoda and Jaecoo and operate alongside iCaur; the order in which the models will go on sale has not yet been decided. The brand’s Brazilian operation will be separate from Caoa Chery’s local business.

The flagship L8 is based on the Chery Tiggo 9 but is 13 cm shorter, at 4.69 metres, and seats five. It retains a 2.80-metre wheelbase and is specified with a 13.2-inch vertical infotainment screen, a 10.2-inch digital instrument display, driver-assistance systems, massage seats and seven airbags. Its stated powertrain combines a 135-hp 1.5-litre turbo engine with a 204-hp electric motor, for a combined 279 hp and 37.2 kgfm. The 18.4-kWh battery is expected to provide about 80 km of electric driving.

The 4.55-metre L6 sits below the L8 and is expected to be priced above the Jaecoo 7, listed in Brazil at R$189,990–R$256,990. In other markets, it is also offered as an EV with 242 hp, a 67.1-kWh battery and a claimed 450-km WLTP range; its PHEV version shares the L8’s powertrain. The 4.40-metre L4 is the entry model. Its international range includes petrol and electric versions, while its Brazilian specification has not been detailed. The report says it could use a 1.5-litre turbo hybrid system also planned for the Omoda 7 in 2027.
