Dongfeng’s entry into Brazil’s electric-car market is taking shape with reported prices for the Box hatchback and Vigo SUV. The figures, disclosed after a closed presentation on October 23, put the Box E3 at R$135,900 and the Vigo E2+ at R$169,900. The special launch terms are due to run through the end of December or until initial stocks sell out.
The Box’s Urban version uses a front-mounted 95-hp electric motor and a 43.89-kWh LFP battery. Its claimed top speed is 140 km/h, and its Inmetro-rated range is 275 km. DC charging is supported at up to 88 kW; Dongfeng says charging from 30% to 80% takes about 30 minutes. The hatch measures 4.02 metres long and has a 309-litre boot. Listed equipment includes six airbags, a 360-degree camera, adaptive cruise control, emergency braking, an electrically adjustable driver’s seat and a 12-inch infotainment screen.
The Vigo E2+ has a 163-hp front motor, a 51.87-kWh LFP battery and a stated Inmetro range of 302 km; its top speed is 150 km/h and peak DC charging capacity is 167 kW. It measures 4.31 metres long and offers a 500-litre boot plus a 72-litre underfloor compartment. The R$169,900 Urban Plus price reflects a R$5,000 launch reduction from the listed R$174,900, with an initial batch of 99 vehicles. A less-equipped Vigo E2 was also reported at R$163,900.
The Box’s price puts it near the Geely EX2, GAC Aion UT and BYD Dolphin. The Vigo is positioned against electric SUVs including the GWM Ora 5 and BYD Yuan Plus. Its Urban Plus trim adds a fixed panoramic roof, digital instrument display, 12.8-inch central screen and lane-keeping assistance.
