Dongfeng has started sales in Brazil under its DFM brand with two electric models: the compact Box and the Vigo SUV. The Box is priced at R$135,900, while the Vigo costs R$169,900. An initial R$3,000 discount is offered on the Box E3, whose price puts it in the same broad bracket as the GAC Aion UT, Geely EX2 and BYD Dolphin GS.
The Box E3 Urban has a 95-hp motor producing 16.3 kgfm of torque and a 43.9-kWh battery. Its claimed range is 275 km on Brazil’s Inmetro cycle. The car reaches 140 km/h and can charge at up to 88 kW, with an 80% charge taking about 30 minutes. It measures 4.02 metres long, has a 2.66-metre wheelbase and a 309-litre boot.
The Vigo Urban Plus uses a 163-hp motor with 23.5 kgfm of torque and is rated for 302 km of Inmetro range. Its top speed is 150 km/h, and the report says an 80% charge takes about 18 minutes using a 167-kW charger. The 4.30-metre SUV has a 2.71-metre wheelbase, a 500-litre rear boot and a 72-litre front compartment. Both models include 360-degree monitoring, wireless phone charging, six airbags, adaptive cruise control and a power-adjustable driver’s seat. The Vigo adds a 12.8-inch infotainment display and leather seats.
