GAC Vietnam has previewed two plug-in hybrid models planned for the country in early December 2026: the M8 PHEV, a large MPV, and the S7 PHEV, a D-segment SUV. The company has not yet disclosed Vietnamese prices, trims or confirmed technical specifications for either model.

The M8 PHEV is a plug-in version of GAC’s M8 MPV. In the Philippines, a related model is sold as the GN8 PHEV. That market’s 2027 Executive version has seven seats, including two individual second-row seats, and measures 5,247 mm long with a 3,070 mm wheelbase. Its 2.0-liter turbocharged Miller-cycle engine and electric motor produce a combined 373 hp and 630 Nm, driving the front wheels. A 25.5-kWh battery is rated for up to 120 km of electric driving and a total range of 1,038 km in the Philippines; these figures are not confirmed for Vietnam.

The S7 debuted in China in 2025 and is sold there under GAC’s Trumpchi brand. Its published dimensions are 4,900 mm long, 1,950 mm wide and 1,780 mm tall, with a 2,880 mm wheelbase. Chinese-market versions pair a 1.5-liter turbo engine with electric motors; the front-wheel-drive variant has a 36.3-kWh battery and a stated CLTC electric range of 205 km, while the four-wheel-drive version is rated at 180 km. In Vietnam, the S7 would enter a segment that includes the Hyundai Santa Fe, Ford Everest and Kia Sorento. Its local powertrain and range remain unconfirmed.
