Geely says its EX2 electric hatchback has surpassed 1 million sales worldwide, two years after its China debut on October 9, 2024. The model sold 71,337 units globally in October alone. In Brazil, however, deliveries have been held back by shortages: registrations fell from 5,897 in July to 1,483 in October, taking the car to 51st in the monthly ranking. Geely says more than 30,000 EX2s have been sold in Brazil so far.

The company attributes the limited availability of some versions and colors to demand exceeding expectations and difficulties shipping cars from China. Growing exports of Chinese vehicles have also increased competition for specialist car-carrier ships. Geely expects new batches to reach Brazilian dealerships in November and December, but has not given a date for normal supply to resume.

The EX2 is scheduled to enter production in December 2026 at the Ayrton Senna industrial complex in São José dos Pinhais, Paraná, as part of Geely’s industrial partnership with Renault. The company added the hatch to its local manufacturing plans after Brazilian demand surpassed expectations. A larger 47-kWh battery has been reported for locally built cars, but Geely has not confirmed the specification; the current Brazilian version has a 40.2-kWh LFP battery and an Inmetro-rated range of 289 km.

In China, the EX2 passed 10,000 sales within 16 days of launch and reached 465,775 sales in 2025. Brazilian versions use a 116-hp rear motor, and the car competes with compact EVs such as the BYD Dolphin Mini. Its dimensions are 4.13 meters long, with a 2.65-meter wheelbase, and it offers a 375-liter trunk plus a 70-liter front compartment.
