MG Motor is bringing its premium IM Motors division to Brazil, with the electric IM6 SUV scheduled to arrive in October. IM Motors was established in 2020 through a partnership between Chinese automaker SAIC Motor and Alibaba. The model is expected to cost less than R$500,000, although MG plans to announce official prices and the precise version lineup the following week. The company says it has already received 300 pre-reservations.

The range-topping IM6 combines a 100 kWh battery with an 800-volt system and produces 752 hp and 81.7 kgfm of torque. MG quotes a 0–100 km/h time of 3.5 seconds and a top speed of 305 km/h; its Inmetro-certified range is up to 400 km. An entry-level version pairs a 295 hp rear motor with a 75 kWh battery and 400-volt architecture. That variant is rated for 348 km of range and a 0–100 km/h sprint in 6.4 seconds.

Both versions get rear-wheel steering, with the rear wheels turning by up to 12 degrees. The 4.90-metre-long SUV has a 2.95-metre wheelbase, and the system is intended to aid low-speed manoeuvres as well as high-speed stability. Cabin features include double-laminated glazing, active noise control, a 26.3-inch display spanning the instrument and infotainment functions, and a separate 10.5-inch screen for vehicle controls. MG positions the IM6 against the Zeekr 7X, priced at R$378,000–448,000, and the BYD Sealion 7, listed at R$339,990.
