Omoda Jaecoo introduced a heat-insulating roof coating for the Omoda 4 at its 2026 International User Summit in Wuhu, China. The Chinese brand says the SUV is planned for Brazil in 2027, with its arrival expected in the first part of the second half of the year, possibly by August.

The coating has a silver finish on the roof but still allows occupants to see the sky through the glass. In tests conducted under the same conditions, Omoda says the cabin was 8–10°C cooler than in a rival vehicle. The difference was about 5°C even when that rival used a sunshade.

The report expects the Brazilian Omoda 4 to launch initially as a petrol hybrid, potentially using the system found in the Omoda 5 and Jaecoo 5: a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine, an electric motor, a dedicated 1DHT hybrid transmission and a 1.83-kWh LiFePO4 battery. That setup is rated at 224 hp and 30.1 kgfm of torque. Chery executives have also raised the possibility of a lower-cost, combustion-only version; a flex-fuel model remains unconfirmed.

At 4.40 metres long, the SUV is close in size to the Nissan Kicks and Hyundai Creta and somewhat larger than the Honda HR-V and Volkswagen T-Cross. Its cabin features a raised centre console and separate instrument and infotainment screens.
