Omoda & Jaecoo has confirmed that the Omoda 7 SHS-H, a new non-plug-in hybrid version of its SUV, will launch in Brazil in 2027. The front-wheel-drive model combines a 1.5-liter turbocharged direct-injection engine with an electric motor integrated into a single-speed DHT transmission. Combined output is 217 hp and 28.1 kgfm of torque; the engine is rated at 143 hp and 21.9 kgfm, with a lower 135-hp engine figure cited for Brazil.
A 5.1-kWh battery is a key difference from the Omoda 5 HEV’s 1.8-kWh pack. The 7 HEV can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in a claimed 7.5 seconds and has an electronically limited top speed of 179 km/h. For comparison, Omoda quotes 8.4 seconds for the plug-in Omoda 7 SHS-P, while the outlet recorded 8.2 seconds in its test. The HEV recharges through regenerative braking and deceleration rather than a plug, and is designed to spend longer driving electrically, particularly in urban traffic.
Omoda claims combined fuel consumption of 20.4 km/L on the NEDC cycle. With a 51-liter fuel tank, the company says total range exceeds 1,000 km. The larger battery also enables V2L power of up to 2,200 W for external equipment, as well as features that can keep the cabin climate system running during extended stops and leave the surrounding cameras active for surveillance. Dimensions match the plug-in version: 4.66 meters long, 1.87 meters wide, 1.67 meters tall, with a 2.72-meter wheelbase. The Brazilian article expects pricing to fall between R$200,000 and R$225,000, alongside full-hybrid versions of the GAC GS4 and GWM Haval H6.
