Brazil's week was about distribution and pipeline more than new metal: Dongfeng put numbers on its entry, Geely set a coverage target, and five brands confirmed or floated models for 2027. The few launches that did reach showrooms were priced between R$110,000 and R$260,000.

Networks and new entrants

Dongfeng will enter as DFM and has outlined an initial network of 60 dealerships across 48 cities in 22 states, opening from the fourth quarter; 32 dealer groups have signed, including 16 sites in São Paulo. Its first two cars, the Box and Vigo EVs, have no announced prices or specifications. Geely has 50 dealerships in 24 states and aims to cover 90% of Brazil by December, including parts and service. At the top end, BYD plans to bring Yangwang in 2027 with dedicated stores, the U8 at around R$1 million likely first, while Lynk & Co is due in 2027 with the 08 plug-in hybrid and Aito is only weighing entry, possibly from 2028.

Launches and prices

The 2027 pipeline

iCaur's V25 is due in Brazil in the second half of 2027, sharing a dealer network with Omoda and Jaecoo. The Omoda 4 is targeted at R$130,000–150,000, below the Omoda 5's R$159,990. Leapmotor plans the B03 hatchback for 2027, and GAC is considering the Aion UT Cross, noting the current UT has registered 4,192 units this year, 1,471 of them in September. Jetour's F700 pickup has only had its design filed with the patent office; a launch is not confirmed.

Supply and service strain

GWM Ora 5 buyers face a wait of about 90 days after the first 2,000 units sold in a day. Owners of Geely, BYD, Leapmotor and MG cars report repair waits of two to more than three months. At BYD's Camaçari plant, workers approved a 5.3% raise after a 24-hour stoppage. Meanwhile GWM's diesel Poer P30 is outselling the BYD Shark in the R$200,000–250,000 band, and BYD ran a two-day promotion with R$25,000 off the King GL.

What it means

  • Network announcements are running ahead of product: Dongfeng has dealers and dates but no prices.
  • The reported pain points are delivery and repair times, not demand.
  • Most new names (iCaur, Omoda 4, B03, Lynk & Co, Yangwang) are 2027 stories; this week's priced launches came from Leapmotor, Jetour and BYD.
